I bring the latest psychological knowledge and techniques and tailor them to your family’s specific need.

I have specific training and experience in the identification and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder, Anger Management, Stress Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional-Self-Control, Anxiety, Depression, Giftedness, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Most of my work in Airdrie and Carstairs comes from adults and parents concerned about:

  • Anger Management

  • Anxiety or Depression Management

  • Emotional Self-Regulation

  • Social Skills Development

  • Behavioural Challenges at Home and School

  • Family Support for Children with Disabilities navigation

Most people start with me wondering why they or their child is struggling, and what they can do about it. I help provide an accurate depiction of what is going on for you or your child, and from there, develop intervention techniques that have the highest chance of success. I offer practical strategies, techniques, and tools to support you or your child. I seek regular feedback from you and your child about the effectiveness of the sessions.

The provision of quality, timely, and appropriate service is a goal I seek to meet at all times. I value excellence and will do my best to ensure that the assistance provided meets your expectations.

Services are provided in accordance with the College of Alberta Psychologists Code of Ethics and regulating guidelines.

Areas of Practice

Assessment

I offer a range of assessment services, including diagnostic, social-emotional, adaptive behaviour and psychoeducational. All of these help to answer questions about you or your child’s strengths and weaknesses and understand roadblocks to success.

Workshops

I provide various workshops to Teachers, School Staff, Parents and Caregivers on a range of topics targeted to specific groups and needs. My most popular workshops are on anxiety and resilience. More details are available here.

Intellectual and Cognitive Functioning

Testing and analysis of strengths and weaknesses including working memory, processing speed, verbal skills, and perceptual skills. Knowing this information allows teaching in ways that enhance success.

Counselling and Therapy

I provide counselling for children, teens and adults. All treatment focuses on building skills to address issues in both the short and long-term. Parents are either involved directly in the treatment, or are made aware of the techniques to better support your child in difficult times and situations. I work with any other members of your child’s team to set up a plan that maximizes your child’s success.

Consultation

Need help figuring out what to do next? I provide psychological consultation services for adults parents, guardians, and educators on how best to support your child. I am able to take various sources of information from doctors, speech pathologists, schools, and others and integrate the information into a plan that will best meet your goals for your child.

Academic Achievement

Sometimes, despite how smart a child might be, they don’t achieve as well as they should. Get an objective measure of their current academic level to support programming at school.

Emotional Regulation

Many children have outbursts of emotion that seem sudden or unpredictable. Get specific detail on why these happen and what to do about them.

Anxiety

Help to uncover the impact of anxiety on you or your child’s success. Investigate the specific situations that your child is anxious and develop a plan to address it.
